OTP Bank Serbia: a strategic HR approach to quality working conditions

Once again, OTP Bank Serbia has demonstrated its commitment to high-quality human resource management and employee well-being, earning the Employer Partner certificate.

Our team of experts at SELECTIO Group has been supporting OTP Bank through the Employer Partner certification process since 2021. We have witnessed the tremendous effort the Bank has put into transforming its HR system, with a special focus on fostering the desired organizational culture. They can truly be proud of their achievements, which are reflected in the outstanding results of this year’s comprehensive HR system assessment. The positive impact of these improvements is clearly seen in the growing employee satisfaction and the trust that OTP Bank has been continuously building over the years, said Lara Šubić Šuša, Employer Partner project manager at SELECTIO Group.

Ensuring employee development and a culture of open communication

OTP Bank is highly committed to employee development, as demonstrated by the fact that over 1,700 employees have participated in internal and external training programs. A training branch has also been opened in Zagreb, specifically designed for the onboarding process of new colleagues. Additionally, the bank provides growth opportunities through both horizontal and vertical career advancements—resulting in over 245 promotions in 2024 alone.

In the past year, the importance of frequent and transparent communication through various channels has been emphasized. Employees have been further encouraged to provide feedback, participate in change processes, and contribute to the improvement of organizational culture. Starting in 2024, new channels for employee suggestions have been introduced, fostering greater engagement in the organization’s development. OTP Bank also regularly conducts employee engagement surveys, with the most recent research showing a high level of employee satisfaction. In addition to its annual surveys, the bank has introduced more dynamic approaches, such as weekly “pulse checks”, which allow for timely identification and resolution of employee needs.

Employee well-being as a priority

Year after year, OTP Bank continues to invest in employee well-being, ensuring resources and programs that enhance both health and job satisfaction. Employee well-being extends to all staff members, with certain benefits also covering their family members. Special attention has been given to burnout prevention initiatives, defining future strategies and action plans, with a continuous focus on monitoring and improving their effectiveness.
